David

Although no longer smaller than me, Dave will always be my little brother. :)

To the outside world we all grow old.
But not to brothers and sisters.
We know each other as we always were.
We know each other's hearts.
We share private family jokes.
We remember family feuds and secrets,
family griefs and joys.
We live outside the touch of time.

Painted Princess

"Whether or not you believe in fairy tales, every girl is a princess to somebody." - Unknown

"I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young. They're still princesses." - from A Little Princess

"Are we to paint what's on the face, what's inside the face, or what's behind it?” - Pablo Picasso

Potpourri

Potpourri - think Jeopoardy category.

I was reminded today, of a photo I took a few years back... which then reminded me of another... and another.  So, I decided to post a few of my favorite non-portraits that haven't made it to my blog.  Click on any photo to enlarge.

Me, my husband, and the beach.  Perfect.

I took this one on a July 4th from a friend's back yard.  Love it.

The colors really pop in this shot of a parakeet from last fall.

Little River Falls, Fort Payne, Alabama

My sons collecting dandelions for me in their wagon a few years back.

A shot I took one year for our Anniversary with our original wedding rings, my flowers, and veil.

Nothing like a mama's love... and nothing like "waffeys" according to my sweet son. :)

This last one isn't the most spectacular of photos (since I just stepped out of my back door and snapped it), but this was the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen. I wanted to share this one for the beauty of the sky, not the skill of the photographer.  God is definitely the true artist.
